WELCOME TO OUR HOMEPAGE
WELCOME to the St. Anthony's on-line community! Our church is a friendly, family-oriented congregation comprised of 360 dedicated families. Located about a one hour drive southwest of St. Louis, we pride ourselves on being a rural community whose congenial people make this a special place to live and worship.

8TH ANNUAL CAR/MOTORCYCLE SHOW/PARISH FESTIVAL AUG 22-23

We had an outstanding parish festival this year. The weather was the best ever and the crowds were terrific. The St. Anthony Festival was held on August 22-23 and the Rt 66 Car/Motorcycle Show on August 23.We thank everyone who attended and of course all the workers who gave their time and talents to make the festival a huge success. We are still tabulating the financials and will announce the achievement soon. Thanks again for your participation.

If you have questions or suggestions about the Festival, please call the rectory at 573-468-6101.

2009 ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL WRAP-UP
The Annual Catholic Appeal Drive for 2009 has just been finalized and the results were quite remarkable in light of the economy. The goal was to raise $12.5million to support a raft of promised grants to groups and schools in the St. Louis general area. In total $13.2 million was raised , of which $12.3 came from 61,182 donors in the St. Louis area, another $690,953 came from matched gifts from area companies and $160,346 came from earnings and gifts from the Perpetual Light Society, the recipient of estate gifts. So all of the promised 2009 ACA grants and gifts to ministries and schools will be fulfilled in the months ahead.

Locally St. Anthony Parish did extremely well in the drive raising $23,235, an all time record for our parish, exceeding both its published financial goal and challenge goal. We also brought in 33 pledges from new donors exceeding our goal of gaining 17 new donors. Our participation was 78%, meaning 78 percent of the congregation made a dollar pledge. We fall within the Washington Deanery of 21 local parishes. We were one of only three parishes in the Deanery that met its challenge goal and our participation percentage was second highest in the Deanery, where the average parish participation was 53%. We did very well .

As you may remember the ACA is giving to the St. Anthony parish this year, a grant of $50,000 for operation of our school, a grant of $30,000 to pay down our school note, and another $4,000 to assist the tuition of families attending St. Anthony school.

A huge thank you again to every family in the St. Anthony parish who contributed to the 2009 ACA drive. We could not have been successful without you.
THANK YOU!

Go in Peace to Love and Serve the Lord.

KNIGHTS FOOD DRIVE..Huge Success
The local Sullivan Knights of Columbus hosted a major food drive on Palm Sunday weekend April 4-5, 2009 to help bolster the diminished food supplies at the local Sullivan Mission. The food drive was extremely successful and we delivered scads of food to the Mission. Many thanks to St Anthony School, St Anthony PSR group, the Sheltered worksop, people who brought food to our dance, bingos and fish fry and all parishioners of both Holy Martyrs and St Anthony who brought food on Palm Sunday. And a big thank you to Bruce Head who organized the drive and to Matt Peregoy and David Mc Culloch for assisting. Together we did very very well !
